RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER CALLS

When returning to the RRS garage after a call, EMTs are responsible for cleaning out the inside
of the ambulance and drivers are responsible for cleaning the outside of the ambulance and hooking the Plymovent system to the exhaust.

Any crew that heads out for a call and notices the ambulance has not been
cleaned by the previous crew is to notify the Chief.

NYSDOH PCR REQUIREMENTS

We have received notification from REMO that the New York State Department of Health requires that all PCRs contain the following specific items:

PCRs not containing these items are being returned by REMO to the respective agency. All members are required to adhere to the NYSDOH requirements.

MISSING INFORMATION

Please be sure to accurately and completely fill out your PCRs, as these are an official document associated with the patient's care. PCRs are missing information such as mileage, care in progress, treatment given. Additionally, key information is left off or misspelled, such as the patient's name, address, telephone number.

HEALTH INSURANCE

You MUST obtain the health insurance information. Not just the name of the insurance company, but the complete ID number and the name of the person whose name is on the policy. The social security number does not suffice.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

If the call is a motor vehicle accident, we must have the NYS license plate numbers for the vehicles involved in the accident. And, if the accident is on the NYS Thruway, indicate "southbound" or "northbound" and the mile marker.

BLS OR ALS?

To help distinguish between ALS calls and BLS calls, prominently mark in the "treatment given" area on your PCR whether the call was a BLS call (no medic onboard) or an ALS call (medic onboard).

If a medic (either Albany County or Greene County) rides in the ambulance with the patient to the hospital, please ask him/her for a copy of their PCR and attach it to your PCR.

TURNING IN PCRs

Upon returning to the garage, PCRs from both the RRS crew and the medic (if applicable), along with the insurance information and rip and run sheets, should be stapled together and put in the locked box in the ambulance garage.

The proper completing of these official documents is part of your responsibility as a member of the RRS. Your cooperation is appreciated.
